Resource Usage

The menu bar monitor is designed to be lightweight:

  • Updates every 2 seconds (not continuously)
  • Minimal CPU overhead (~0.1%)
  • Small memory footprint
  • No impact on battery life

Troubleshooting

  • Check that “Show in menu bar” is enabled in Settings
  • Try toggling the setting off and on
  • Restart the app if needed

Stats seem inaccurate

  • CPU usage is averaged over cores
  • RAM calculation matches Activity Monitor methodology
  • Some system memory is reserved and not shown
  • Use Compact mode for smaller display
  • macOS may hide icons if space is limited
  • Hold Cmd and drag to rearrange menu bar items

Popover won’t open

  • Click directly on the MyMacCleaner text/icon
  • If another popover is open, click elsewhere first
  • Try moving the mouse away and clicking again

Tips

  1. Use Compact Mode if you want minimal screen space usage
  2. Check Memory Pressure - More useful than raw numbers
  3. Quick Scan Access - Use the menu bar for fast scans
  4. Monitor During Tasks - Watch resource usage while running intensive apps
